I like Billy Joel probably more than most people. That’s a fun fact.

So, now that the truly massive Bonanza Extravaganza story has reached its conclusion, I can talk about other things.

There isn’t a whole lot that’s going on with Will, but there are other matters to discuss.

Editor’s note: These “other matters” necessitate a significant portion of time. Also, I had to remake the chart. I skipped a week.

Tuesday afternoons are usually pretty slow. Tuesday afternoons after a Monday holiday are molasses in January.

Thus, I blog.

Here is the full report of how things went down this weekend.

UPDATE: I started this on Tuesday as it turned into a very long post. I planned to finish it Wednesday, but I had to wait for the heat to die down, and that’s all I’m going to say about that.

UPDATE 2: Thursday was busy and stressful, and only part of that had to do with my job. Update today. Sorry. Deal.

12:05 a.m. We got back to [address redacted] a little less than an hour ago. Unpacked, got situated and plopped.

I didn’t update from the road as much as I would have liked, but hey, isn’t that the story of this thing?

(I mean, other than the “I’m a dad, and here’s what that’s like” story.)

Full report tomorrow. Probably.

10:20 p.m. I’ve had very much alcohol today.

What that means for you is that I’m going to give you the full update on the weekend tomorrow.

Or Tuesday. Or something.

You’re welcome.

11:15 a.m., we’re getting settled in Rockford, on the shores of Lake Bella Vista. Internet is spotty here, so updates may be scarce. Plus, I could use a nap before the wedding tonight.

Time to get comfy. More later!

3:36 a.m., and we made it to Michigan. We stopped for food in Hagerstown, Md. Gina drove before that, and I drove after that until somewhere in Ohio, when I passed out. Gina drove the rest of the way.

Time to rest for a few hours before continuing on to the G.R.

Grandma just got up! Time to greet the fam.

Begin The BonanEx!

It’s 5:20 p.m. I’m waiting for Gina to get here. We’re most likely going to take the Pa. Turnpike, since it’s faster, rather than our usual back way, which is slower but cheaper. I have also devised a way to (maybe) get around (some of) the (excruciatingly) awful D.C. traffic. I’ll let you know how that works out.

She just called, and she’s here. Off we go!

Microbe machine

Best. Post title. EVAR. Seriously, you gotta tell me that’s pretty awesome.

That is, if you’re my age and you get the pun.

All that WIN aside, it’s time to talk about the magnitude of illness around here.

Get it? I slay me!

The reason I’m able to make such brilliant puns is that I felt (relatively) refreshed this morning, as opposed to most mornings, when I lie in bed silently cursing my awakeness and the fact that it’s already time to be awake — or earlier.

But finally, I may have discovered the method by which Will gets up fewer times in the night, which means I get up fewer times in the night.

The solution is at once gratifying and ominous.

I think I need to up the dosage on my drug of choice. I mean, my other drug of choice. Actually, both.

My nose is still in protest. Tree pollen is down to “moderate,” according to the Weather Channel forecasts I look at, as opposed to “absurdly high” last month. Maybe it’s the grass or something.

Also, I’ve been really tired lately. More on that later.
